Throughout the construction phase of the Central Reserve project it was evident that the excitement surrounding the new playing surface was building across many levels of the local community. From the Senior Colac Football/Netball clubs and an extensive AusKick and Junior footballing community, to school sports days and local little athletics, Pitchcraft have transformed the sports surface that had previously proved inadequate amidst high rainfall, into an “elite level community facility” (Turfgrass Magazine, Jul-Aug 2013), with local prospects to attract AFL practice matches and other forms of high grade sporting events.
The strong relationship which was forged between Pitchcraft and the Colac Otway Shire through this project has allowed for a seamless transition from construction and establishment of turf to ongoing maintenance and procedures. Pitchcraft’s acquired understanding of resource allocation within the council has allowed us to provide specialist advice and services moving forward and puts Central Reserve in good stead to remain in top condition all year round.
