CE Brown Reserve

In 2014 Pitchcraft was contracted by the City of Ballarat to provide a premium sporting field for the community of Wendouree. Home to the Lake Wendouree Football and Cricket Club, CE Brown Reserve has historically been dreaded by host and visiting sporting clubs for its inability to drain water, resulting in a ‘boggy mud heap’ after periods of rain.

Since reconstruction, CE Brown reserve ranks highly in the preferred playing surfaces in the region. Unlike before unwanted water drains freely from the field with the help of an extensive subsurface drainage system and highly specified sand profile.The high integrity of the sports field construction gives the Santa Ana Couch Grass (Rye over-sown) the best opportunity to prosper amidst regular sporting events. Pitchcraft worked closely with the City of Ballarat on this project and would like to thank them for their support and cooperation through the duration of this achievement.
